Launching Your Film

Where you will hold the premier of your film-this should be closely match the style of film and be befitting.

The Lexi Cinema

The Lexi in Kensal Rise, the self-proclaimed “first social enterprise independent boutique digital cinema in the UK”, donates all its profits to charity, is mainly staffed by volunteers and proudly hails itself as a resource for the entire neighbourhood. Kid’s clubs, parent and baby shows, matinees for older people, film clubs, discussion groups and Q & As with filmmakers fit seamlessly into its normal programme, and every penny raised goes towards supporting an entirely different community on the other side of the world.
Lynedoch Village in Stellenbosch, South Africa, is the country’s first eco-village and, overseen by the Sustainability Institute, the Lexi’s donations have gone towards the local school, the building of a brand new crèche with places for 45 children from the surrounding area, a community cinema, a community vegetable garden for research into sustainable farming methods and much more, offering the young people of Lynedoch a better start in life.

Where will you advertise your film? buses, hoardings magazines websites etc.?
All of the above with possible TV advert exposure and small time cinemas.
Have you run a teaser campaign in the build up to release?
the teaser campaign was target at a key demographic primarily aimed at the dance community and the many companies professional and recreational.
What competitions will you being running?
a chance to meet the cast and choreographers of the film along with a vreestyle masterclass.
What merchadise will support your film?
"Defy convetion" Tshirts, posters and street tags aswell as a production journal taking you through how the film was made and editied where it was filmed the chorography ect.
How will you use your stars to promote your film ?
Have the stars mention it openly at public interviews and to facebook and twitter followers.
What shows, magazine interviews and radio or web will be most beneficial and therefore targeted?
The one show,this morning,BBC news,BBC radio one.
Are there any products that you could attempt to tie your film in with?
Footlocker stores.

How do you feel the trailer was successful?

·         Yes

·         Makes the film look inspirational with use of text and loud major –key music .Academy awards too.

·         Very, great music

·         High tempo,exciting,fun,makes you want to see more

·         The trailer was successful, stuck to his genre, and didn’t give too much away.

·         It captured the eye of the target audience and showed the genre clearly.

·         The trailer was good it had consistent beat to the soundtrack bring tension to the trailer.

Did it contain the codes and conventions of the appropriate genre?

·         Plenty; lots of dance moves and words relating to how someone feels with this genre.

·         It needed more depth

·         I think it did show the genre.

Would it sit comfortably alongside other trailers for the certificate?

·         The certificate should be 12

·         Yes because recent dance films have had the same vibe and excitement to it.

·         As he rated it a 15, I think it does hit the right target audience due to the actors being teenagers-

·         I think the certificate is higher than expect considering the trailer a 12 would suit more.

·         It wouldn’t sit alongside blockbuster trailers but it’s suitable for the given certificate.
